Geek Book Vote

A rather poor, but interesting, vote on the best geek novels (as in fiction) over in the Guardian Unlimited has The Hitchikers at #1. This is great, but the sample size is small and it’s based on voting on a small shortlist. Oh wait, now I sound like a geek.

    Yes – and Terry Pratchett at number 9, hardly quality! At least Mr Banks had a showing with his first… although Excession was my fave.

    Where’s LOTR? It’s the book that made us all geeks in the first place. It’s the modern geek ur-scripture… well, that an C&VG Magazine…
