Great hike up Rainbow Ridge with good views of Shukstan and the North Cascade range. Looking west towards Baker was best for photos though, as there was less haze.
Most of our North Cascades hikes come from the excellent book Don’t Waste Your Time In The North Cascades: An Opinionated Guide To Help You Get The Most From This Magnificent Wilderness (amazon) which gives the best hikes rather than the most popular. The Rainbow Ridge hike here is number 6 in the book (yesterday’s hike was number 5) and isn’t even found with an internet search.
