it looks like a bad case of cultural infantilism
I just spent all afternoon on the deck finishing off Midnight Tides (4/5) – an ongoing installment in the mind-bogglingly panoramic blood-and-guts-a-little-too-much epic fantasy from Steven Erikson (I had the UK version, sent from Ireland by Martin). Can’t wait for the next installment.

Anway, I’ll rant about him on PreModernist rather than here. Glad you liked Midnight Tides, it’s over-long but good, especially the louche hidden-genius brother of the General. About to hack a path into Repear’s Gale, which features the return of Karsa Orlong, the Barbarian’s Barbarian…
