The Flying Scotsman (3/5) – Good solid little movie from the UK (with EU financing).
First came to my attention as an airplane movie in August but picked it up in the New Releases at the video store last night. The movie is pretty much what it says on the tin – a story of the adventures of Graeme Obree, a Scotsman, who made his own bike for about 50 and went on to beat several world records in the early 90’s.
Good, if not Oscar, performances from Johnny Lee Millar, Billy Boyd and Brian Cox. The female cast didn’t show strong, especially the wife, 50% of whose lines were (literally) “Come on, Graeme!”.
Read more at IMDB, or buy it from the Park’s Amazon link.
