Christmas Quarantine

Christmas Eve: “Well I guess we’d better buy a turkey, or pizza.”

It’s now official. The pede has applied bilateral sanctions on little L and her battle with The-Virus-That-Attacked-Christmas.

Our increasing list of missed engagements can now be projected into the future rather than being last minute cancellations. So evening drink soiree, Christmas brunch and Christmas dinner now join Saturday brunch, skiing and Christmas lights on the casualty list.

Technically D & I can still circulate within the social world, but we’re alternatively sleep-deprived, worried, crotchedy and occasionally vomit-covered (sometimes all at once too): we’ll probably keep such excursions limited to the minimum. Such as trips to the store for chocolate, alcohol and drugs filling prescriptions.

Christmas traditions start in the strangest ways, and in some sense I’m pretty resilient to the ongoing challenges – it is our first Christmas Eve all in our little house in front of the tree after all, so who knows what annual activities this will be the genesis of.

Merry Christmas everyone!

The W’s.

p.s. I may even catch up on some blogposts – I feel the need to bore you with the latest list of movies and books, because some of them should be avoided.
