Pie vz Cake (where is the Pizza)
Pizza would win, but on the subject of more dessert-like material here is a conversation about Pie vz Cake (*). e.g. a comment:
I’m going to have to disagree with you on the appropriateness of pie on birthdays. I think pie should be a little lower. I have never had a birthday pie.
It doesn’t change the outcome, but it will make your more objective.
I found this when I finally zipped through Facebook checking on what Danika has been saying recently. I commented on a bundle of her things and found her pointing at this funny website (**). I think we also determined we will make a fortune with the website fortheloveofgoditsmascarpone.com.
I was only on facebook because someone had commented on something that was barely news in the house, far less a massive social network, while accepting a friend invitation from someone who was, you know, a living breathing friend.
As a reminder, my 2009 experiment with social media has ended. Facebook lasted 3 months, twitter was more my style but was just another random time suck so I tailed that off at Christmas. It’s always worth evaluating the noise-to-signal-to-distraction ratio of these things occasionally (especially when juggling a baby, do you really need to tweet that?). I still have identities there to stop identity poaching for when I am famous and rich but have no immediate plans to return.
(*) note that in the URL permalink, versus was originally mis-spelled
(**) Facebook. It is nasty and evil and a walled garden. I cannot link to the individual post Danika made here, so trust me she posted about these things.
